Aquatic Control spot treated several coves, on July 24th, that had an over abundance of coontail causing the inability to navigate the cove.
The following are expected outcomes for these areas:
- Treatment should last through the end of the season (October).
- Timeline to see results: 10 to 21 days
- Coontail will no longer be present at a density causing inhibitory
use/access conditions
-Coontail will turn brownish in color and sink below the surface.
Use a rake to manually remove floating remnants.
-Accumulated algae over the coontail may dissipate, but it is
difficult to say with any degree of certainty in the back of more
protected coves. It is also realistically possible algae could worsen
as coontail dies and decomposes.
- Dead vegetation can be raked or physically removed after a
period of 20 days. Dead vegetation can be used as compost.
